Thank you for inviting us to come alongside you.  We are so glad you have chosen Grace Counseling Services, and are excited to embark on this journey with you.  We want to remind you that we value your confidentiality.  Effective therapy requires a great deal of trust between the Therapist and client.  The law protects the relationship between the Therapist and the client, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.

Exceptions include

• As mandated reporters, any suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, we are required by law to report to the appropriate authorities immediately.

• If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person, we must notify the police and inform the intended victim.

• If a client intends to harm himself or herself, we will make every effort to enlist their cooperation to ensure their safety. If the client does not cooperate, we will take further measures without their permission that are provided to us by law in order to ensure the safety of the client.
